The Lady with an Ermine is universally recognized as a masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci, a luminary of the Italian Renaissance. Created around 1489–1491, this portrait is executed in oil on a walnut wood panel. It features Cecilia Gallerani, who was known to be the mistress of Ludovico Sforza, known as "Il Moro," the Duke of Milan.
